What factors effect the location of industry?
- Flat land with good stable soil so buildings can be built easily.
- Good power supply e.g. near power station which makes power cheaper.
- A market nearby where the goods can be sold. This lowers transport costs.
- Government policies (grants and incentives). Helps the industry set up.
- Technology available in the area.
- Local facilities.
- Transport links which help inport and export.
- Labour (workers living near by).
- Raw materials.
- Natural route for transport.
