Changes in Britain's employment structure

Changes in Britain's employment structure

  • There has been a decrease in primary employment:
  • Primary jobs have been taken over by industry so their are less jobs for humans.
  • More developed countries have found it is cheaper to import goods from poorer countries than make them themselves.
  • Manual jobs are the same as primary jobs; They have decreased.
  • Non manual jobs are from the tertiary industry such as office workers and people in health or education.
  • These jobs in the tertiary industry have increased in Britain as there is a better health service and technology has increased bringing more office jobs.
  • Male workers in Britain have decreased as their traditional jobs such as farming, mining etc have reduced.
